How to Take Photos for Excavator Parts Inquiry

Clear photos can reduce wrong matching risk when the part number is missing, damaged or difficult to read.

Useful photos to send

Part Overview

Take a full photo of the old part from the front, side and back if possible.

Label or Nameplate

For pumps, motors, sensors and valves, take a close photo of labels, casting marks or nameplates.

Installed Position

Take a wider photo showing where the part is installed on the machine.

By Part Type

What details matter

Hydraulic PartsNameplate, port layout, hose connection and installed position.
Electrical PartsPlug shape, pin count, label, fault code and installation photo.
UndercarriageSide photo, dimensions, track shoe width, link count and old part wear pattern.
Engine PartsOld part number, engine model, label photo and machine nameplate.

Common Mistakes

Avoid unclear inquiry photos

Too Close Only

A close-up without installation context can make it hard to identify the part family.

Blurry Label

If the label is blurry, retake the photo with better light and focus on the number.

No Machine Model

Even good photos should be sent with machine brand, model and serial number if possible.
